Chris Mayo Awarded Chancellor's GTA Award
LAWRENCE-Chris Mayo, mathematics graduate student, received the 2025-2026 Chancellor’s Graduate Teaching Assistant award from KU Graduate & Postdoctoral Affairs to recognize excellence in teaching by graduate students.
GTA Awards are given to graduate students who have demonstrated outstanding professional interaction with students and faculty while working as a GTA.

Chris has received his M.A. degree in mathematics and is working on his Ph.D. He has taught precalculus and calculus courses. He has served as an officer of the department’s Graduate Student Organization, a group leader for the analysis qualifying exam study group, and a volunteer for KU’s Mathematics and Statistics Math Awareness Month math competition. Chris gave research presentations at several conference in 2025.
