In addition to course work, you can enrich your mathematical experience by engaging with other students through our clubs and by participating in outreach activities. Students can participate in national, state and local math competitions and pursue research projects guided by faculty.

Paying for College can be expensive but KU and the Mathematics Department can help provide solutions.

Math tutors are always in demand! You can work on campus as a tutor in the math department, TRIO and KU Athletics to name a few. The math department also hires graders, student assistants for large lectures, and student office assistants.

The Mathematics department offers scholarships for returning undergraduate mathematics majors and non-mathematics majors with strong concentrations in mathematics.

Mathematics is a key element of several subjects that teach students a number of applicable skills that are attractive to a number of professional fields. Employers appreciate the skills of data analysis and the innovative, original thinking that can be taught with a math degree.
