The Impact of Math—Lawrence Business Magazine

The Lawrence (KS) Business Magazine devoted its 2023 Q4 issue to the Impact of Mathematics.  Two of our KU Math faculty are featured in this issue:  Bozenna Pasik-Duncan and Purnaprajna Bangere, professors of mathematics.  The issue covers a variety of topics that are influenced by math.

In the “Letter From the Publishers”, they state, “What is the impact of Math? To start with, mathematics is a cornerstone of human understanding, permeating every facet of our lives. Its importance reverberates through engineering, art, economics, architecture, agriculture, aviation, and education, serving as a universal language that transcends boundaries and disciplines. In education, math is more than numbers and equations; it cultivates critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and logical reasoning. It acts as a scaffold, supporting the comprehension of various subjects, from science to geography and history."
