Ryan Frier Receives Distinguished Service Award
LAWRENCE-Ryan Frier, mathematics graduate student, received the Graduate Student Award for Distinguished Service for the 2021-2022 academic year from KU Graduate Studies. This award is presented annually to a graduate student who has demonstrated a genuine commitment to serving KU while maintaining a high level of academic achievement.
Ryan entered the KU mathematics graduate program in 2017. He has taught precalculus and calculus courses and is currently the coordinator of Math 104 Precalculus. He served as president of the department’s Graduate Student Organization in 2020-2021. He was a finalist for the department’s 2020-21 Florence Black Award for Teaching Excellence.
